Installation INFORMATION

During November 2018, I took over one of the announcement boards at RIT’s College of Art and Design. “School’s Board” is an installation on an actual school’s case. I used typical decorations, text, modified warning signs, one of my still life photographs and my son’s drawings over printed weapons. My goal is to make the viewer think about what concrete actions are usually taken to prevent gun violence, especially in school settings, and to challenge the effectivity of these policies and plans without the support of legislature. I also would like the viewer to reflect about what information and procedures are children exposed to, specifically the active shooter drills.
